Ethos
My work is motivated by my belief in the importance of art and the power of words, as well as the delight of a clever joke. I use these tools to create projects that:
Make useful information easier to find/understand
Connect awesome people and/or ideas, especially to share joy and build people power
Extend the reach of creative voices and events
Amplify independent, progressive media
Actively work against white supremacy, colonialism, and all forms of discrimination and exploitation
Directly address and work towards solutions to the climate crisis
Background
Academics: I hold a BA from Concordia University in Journalism and Human Environment (double major). I also have a Visual Arts Diploma from Camosun College, and I am currently finishing up a Certificate in Communication Design Essentials at British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Non-academics: I have over ten years of experience working in cafés and restaurants, from dishwasher to cook to front-of-house. I have also worked several years in healthcare as a home support scheduler. I have volunteer experience in peer support and harm reduction, art galleries, and in community organizing and advocacy.
